BUSY BUSY BUSY

So I haven't been blogging. I need to be blogging. But I have been so busy lately. School just started up again and now I have to deal with that, and I have also been practicing a ton for my Doctoral Auditions. I have been pretty productive though so that's good. My recital program is 85% memorized. I have my entire Beethoven Sonata ready, my entire Chopin set ready, and 6/7 movements of the Rameau Suite ready. All that is left is the Ginastera and the entire 90 minute program will be ready! WOOOOO..... It's been a ton of work and I look forward to sharing it with you.

Hopefully I will have some choices for Doctoral programs. I am applying to NYU in Solo Performance, but would like to include a lot of Collaborative playing in my studies. The rest are all Collaborative Arts Programs. I am applying to UC Santa Barbara, USC, Michigan, Cleveland Institute of Music, and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. I have been prepping for those, and soon will have to take the GRE Exam. I am not looking forward to that but that is necessary for a bunch of the schools, especially NYU my top choice.

I hope to have options to choose from, and will desperately need a financial aid package or some sort of teaching / research assistant-ship. I have way to much debt from my Master's Degree (worth it) and cannot take on any more. Lucky for me, all of the schools offer some sort of assistance. Unfortunately that also makes getting in super competitive as there are a lot less openings to get in. My teacher says that the piano program at NYU is only accepts 1 fully funded student. New York is outrageously expensive and without the aid package, it will be impossible for me to go there.

I composed a new Etude, and Impromptu recently. I am in the process of cleaning up all of composition's notation on Finale in order to offer clean copies for sale on the site. It takes forever and I have become an expert in clicking and dragging. Seriously like hours of clicking and dragging on Finale. My mouse's left button has been broken and I finally dug into my old box of computer stuff to get an old mouse. It was driving me nuts. I also finished my repertoire list. LET ME TELL YOU KIDS, don't procrastinate your repertoire list. Keep record as you go, and don't just throw all of your music in a box after you are done. I went through 4 boxes full of copied music and it also took forever. After that I had to sort all of the Vocal music into categories which also took forever. It is much easier if you input as you go.... Don't procrastinate. But it looks really good. You can find it in my ABOUT section.

Well that's all for now. This weekend I am sending Introduction Emails to the Doctoral Programs that I am applying for and will hopefully be getting my friends to respond for my testimony section of my website. WORK WORK WORK never ends, but I like it and it will be nice when this Website is Done! SEE YAH!
